Behaviour
Behavioural Policy
42nd operates a behavioural policy in order to ensure that leaders, members and parents all understand how challenging behaviour will be dealt with.
It is important for 42nd to uphold a behavioural policy as many activities run in scouting can be dangerous without proper order and discipline being maintained.
A yellow and red card system is used;
Yellow cards are given when a leader feels that a young person has been rude, not paying attention or has been generally disruptive or uncooperative.
Red cards are given for verbal or physical aggression or any other action deemed serious by a leader.
A second yellow card being given to a young person results in a red card.
A red card means the young person is likely to be sent home if there is any further misbehaviour. Leaders will also speak to parents about their behaviour and there is the possibility of missing the next meeting and not being allowed to attend trips, outings and camps depending on behaviour on the lead up to a trip.
